Founded in 1980, Barnie’s Coffee & Tea Company Inc. has grown into one of the largest privately held specialty coffee retailer in the US, with locations both domestically and internationally. The company has an international mail order service and custom order gift basket department. A growing company, Barnie’s has developed aggressive expansion plans to open new corporate and franchised locations throughout the world.

In October 2001, the company was acquired from Sara Lee by its current owners, a group of former Blockbuster Video executives and franchises. Immediately, the new owners began making improvements to the company’s financial statements and more importantly to the retail stores and operating systems. What started out primarily as a Florida company is expanding nationally and internationally through franchising, co-branding and e-commerce. From customized blends created specifically for Central Florida theme parks and restaurants, to being placed on the coffee aisle of premium grocery stores Barnie’s is expanding all channels of distribution, bringing out great products to customers all over the world.
