From a humble beginnings as an ice cream parlor in1979, SugarBun has evolved to become one of the leading and most innovative food service Chain Restaurant with more than 60 Quick Service Restaurants, Destination Centers and Cafes with successful operating experience in Malaysia, Negara Brunei Darussalam, Bangladesh, Australia and Indonesia.
Its growth accelerated after the original founder handed over the reins of the company to the new shareholders with only twelve SugarBun restaurants in 1993. The company was taken to greater heights when it was listed on the Second Board of Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange (KLSE) in 1997.

The regeneration of the menu started in 2001 from the “Old” Western Fast Food Menu to the “New” Lifestyle Branding Menu where the old Western Fast Food Menu was improved and the mouth watering Asian Cuisine Meals eg; Sambal Eco Fish Meal, Chicken Mushroom Claypot, Chicken Curry Claypot, Beef Stew and Assam Fish Head, to name a few; Pizza, Pastas, Blended Ice-Kacang and a wide range of beverages and gourmet coffee was incorporated into the menu to provide differentiation for the menu.
The regeneration of the menu quickly saw a drastic increase of sales turnover attracting brand new customers and increase spending per customer.
This revolutionary concept has seen SugarBun outlets transform from the traditional 4 cornered enclosed restaurant to a more hip and vibrant place with loads of excitement abuzz.
These bright and breezy, nature friendly destination centres are a first of its kind in the region, with its interesting layouts and lush greenery abound.
