We started baking in our own kitchen and offered home baked products to friends and relatives. By word of mouth our small business grows. Orders came in by referrals. In 2001 a customer got interested in our home based business, she proposed for a partnership.
In 2004, the store transferred to another location, beside Lian Hong Co. Quezon Avenue Ext., Villa Verde, lligan City. A much better site, gaining good reputation for quality cakes and pastries customers grow more in numbers. In May 2006, we opened another branch near cathedral church. In 2007, we are granted another loan from Small Business Guarantee Fund & Finance Corporation. This time we use it to purchase the Multi cab for our deliveries and added additional equipments.
In 2008, we renovated the store and introduced fast food. In 2009, we decided to close the other outlet. We focused in our main branch instead and availed the services of RK Franchise Consultancy to help us develop the franchise system for Purple Plate Cakeshop.
We got our inspiration to franchise the business from the book, “Rich Dad, Poor Dad” by Robert Kiyosaki to quote “a business that works in one city will certainly work in another city”. As we journey into life we aspire to grow bigger and stronger and become among the major players in cake business.
