The IPRAS is a prestigious organization engaged in promoting plastic surgery both scientifically and clinically, to further education and to encourage friendship between physicians in all countries. The organization was founded in 1955 by group of plastic surgeons who foresaw the need for an international body of plastic surgeons to allow for scientific exchange and to permit orderly development of the specialty in all countries. IPRAS is comprised of the leading national societies of plastic surgery from around the world. IPRAS is governed by 2 administrative groups. They achieve their goals by organizing conferences, seminars and events throughout the year in and outside the region.
