At Bear Hug Global Preschool, we offer a learning experience to children from all over the world. We believe that each child is a unique and capable individual, with their own strengths and growth areas, and that all children inherently possess curiosity and a desire to learn.

First and foremost, we focus on teaching the whole child, which includes social and emotional development before academic pursuits. Our objectives are to help children 1) foster supportive friendships, 2) develop a sense of fairness and respectful behavior towards others, and 3) express their creativity, curiosity, and drive to learn about life. 

Our philosophy is child-centered; that is, our teachers teach with an approach that understands that children are curious, eager to explore and learn, competent and resourceful, ready to cooperate, and full of wonder and delight. Some of the educational pedagogy that has influenced our program include: Montessori, Waldorf, and Reggio Emilia, as well as educators such as John Holt, Alfie Kohn, Howard Gardner, and Vivian G. Paley.
