The idea which give birth to The Big Apple Pizza Co. was conceived during a vacation that owner Kevin Bitanga and his family had in the US. To make the most of their vacation, they had spent most of their time on the road touring, their trips punctuated only with quick meal at pizza parlors or fast-food restaurants. Like most every Filipino tourist, who has been used to eating “regular sized” pizza offerings back home, the size of a gourmet pizza, a slice of which is big enough to pass for regular meal, is almost always a feast for the eyes and palate.
Kevin was immediately confident that a restaurant serving 20-inch diameter pizza made only from the finest ingredients would be welcomed by an untapped market back in the Philippines. Kevin worked towards the realization of his idea as soon as he and his family was back from their vacation. Establishing a food business was nit supposed to be that hard fot the Bitanga’s. For a good start, Kevin’s wife, Jinky, is a professional chef. And for a business partner, they need not look far because Ryan Baretto, Jinky’s brother, was immediately sold with the idea to a unique pizza restaurant that’s sure to stand out from among the rest.
The first The Big Apple Pizza Co. outlet was launched at 8101 Pearl Drive, Ortigas Center, Pasig City. The impeccable preparation, the generous serving, and the wide variety of menu chocies immediately generated frequent patronage and customer loyalty. Soon after another outlet was inaugurated at 12 President Avenue, Brgy. Tahanan BF Homes, Paranaque City. Jinky’s original recipes (which aside from gourmet pizza now include pasta dishes, strombolli, desserts and combo meals) are certified crowd-drawers. Their “Big Apple Special Pizza” is a certified favorite. Every pizza variety they feature as “Pizza of the month” becomes a best-seller.
Both the concept and the products of The Big Apple Pizza Co. can be described as fresh and flavorful. And it’s a good venture for entrepreneurs of all ages. A would-be franchise looking for a profitable business will never go wrong about taking a bite out of The Big Apple Pizza Co.
