Chez Andre’, The Pizza Gourmet is a real homegrown business. It was started in Bacong, Negros Oriental, a few minutes from the popular provincial capital, Dumaguete City, the Philippines’ University Town, by Frenchman Joel Andre’ Estoursy and his wife, Vita.
Andre’ and Vita created fine pizza products from only the freshest, healthiest ingredients. Andre’ never believed in compromising freshness and he stresses that food that is fresh is naturally flavorful.
The first outlet in Bacong thrived amidst a modest set-up free of the complexities of the modern, commercially-oriented trappings of most businesses. A growing popularity brought by word-of-mouth endorsements of satisfied customers made pizza lovers from Dumaguete City and the nearby towns regulars at the Bacong outlet. But the demands of a mushrooming clientele could not be ignored. Upon suggestion of city-based customers, Andre’and Vita decided to relocate their business to Dumaguete where the bulk of their business was coming from. Dumaguetenos and visitors to the quaint city by the sea rejoiced. At last, the freshest pizza at the most incredible prices were now just a quick wait away.
