Preppy came into the fashion retail scene out of the simple dream of a young hardworking lady to have her own boutique. Lady Ann Sayoto, then a young, stylish 24, was already a fashion buff and entrepreneur who enjoyed trendy wear and accessories, while venturing into a modeling agency. In 2002, while malling at Robinsons Place Imus, she spotted a vacant space at the mall. She asked around and soon enough, the mall’s leasing group made her a temporary tenant.
With her very hands-on approach and very keen business and fashion sense, she was able to set up the store in less than a month, personally supervising everything, from construction of the store, putting together the store display and overall look, and shopping for the best bargains locally and overseas for her merchandise. You name it, she did it.
