Hungry Hippo started out in 1995 as an unnamed restaurant occupying a small space at the Shell Station along the South Luzon Expressway. Albert Castillo came up with a burger recipe inspired by his knack for good taste. The specialty burgers caught on as motorists, travellers, and golfers flocked to the store, producing lines that would last for hours.
This prompted his family to turn this small-time business into a corporation and opened a second outlet at the Shell North Luzon tollways. The company’s mission was simple, to offer great tasting burgers at an affordable price. Soon they started offering other sandwiches and rice meals to cater to their diners’ palate. Over the next few years, a few outlets opened and the quality and service never changed.
We have opened our doors for franchise opportunities as a way to partner with interested entrepreneurs looking to open in select locations in Metro Manila and Southern Luzon. The Family run business sees to it that it’s partner franchisees deliver the same commitment to uncompromising product quality and friendly service that makes Hungry Hippo the preferred destination for hungry patrons.
