Rika Drugstore is a well-known drugstore in Cagayan de Oro City. It is considered as the pioneering drugstore in the city since it started to operate way back October 2, 1987. The first owner of the drugstore is Dr. Segundina who is an Anesthesiologist by profession. She establishes the drugstore because she sees the need for that kind of business concept and the potential market is in the place.
After sometime, Dr. Segundina decides to entrust the business to her nephew and niece Andrew Velasco and Christine Velasco. Still, the same objective was maintained in operating the outlets. As of now, Rika Drugstore has six (6) outlets located in Cogon, Yacapin, Divisoria, Carmen, Carmen Market and Gusa, all in Cagayan de Oro City and performing outstandingly.
The company can be compared with high-end drugstores given that it uses Point-of-Sales terminal and Rikakard (loyalty card for members using point system). The owners make sure that their tagline “Ang Drugstore ng Pamilya Masaligan Ta” which means “Ang Drugstore ng Pamilya na mapagkakatiwalaan natio” in Tagalog was realized.
When it comes to the market, Rika Drugstore is the type of business which is very flexible that it reaches all classes of people in walks of life. The drugstore is staffed with professional and well-trained Pharmacist and Pharmacy Assistants to assist and ensure the welfare of customers.
