Franchise Fee - $29,500
The EDGE franchise fee includes the use of our proprietary mark EDGE BOARDSHOP, initial and ongoing training and support, site selection support, store layout and design, and the EDGE comprehensive business model. EDGE offers a 10% franchise fee discount to current active duty US military personnel, or veterans with an honorable discharge.
Royalties - 5% of Gross Sales
Royalty fees are paid to EDGE Franchise Corporation and will fund the ongoing support of the EDGE franchisees. The support provided includes personal support staff, toll free support lines, email bulletins, conference calls, operation manual updates and research and development of new services and products.
Annual Technology Development - $4,200
Our point of sale software is unique to EDGE BOARDSHOP and is critical to run your business. This system will give you and your staff the business intelligence you need to manage your inventory, prepare purchase orders, manage your customer database, transact retail sales and prepare various reports. Our management system is web based which means that you can access it remotely and anywhere you have an internet connection, from your PC, Apple Computer, Ipad, Tablet or smart phone.
Local Advertising - 2% of Gross Sales
Advertising is critical to driving customers through your door. EDGE will provide you with many different effective tools to properly market your store. A minimum of 2% of Gross Sales should be budgeted for your monthly advertising.
National Advertising Fund - 1% of Gross Sales
Combined with the local advertising efforts driven by each franchisee, EDGE BOARDSHOP's National Advertising Fund increases brand awareness and drives new and existing customers into our stores. The funds expenditures which are planned by EDGE corporate will include targeted and broad marketing campaigns.
Recommended Minimum Operating Captial - $20,000 - $30,000
These funds are not paid to EDGE. As you will learn during your discovery process, the retail industry is cash intensive and we want to make sure our franchisees have every opportunity to be successful. New franchisees must have a minimum amount of capital available to support the start-up phase of the business.
Total Investment - $89,350 to $152,400 (not including working capital)
The total investment to begin operation of an EDGE store ranges from $89,350 to $152,400. This figure covers all typical startup costs including the franchise fee, initial inventory, training, fixtures and merchandising. This does not include a recommended budget of $20,000 to $30,000 working capital.
