What is the investment range for the Kennelwood Pet Resorts Franchise?
The estimated required investment ranges between $690,483 and $945,473, including a franchise fee of $55,000. As with any new business venture, it’s important that you have the capital needed to adequately fund your new business. We require franchise candidates to have a minimum of $200,000 in liquid capital to invest in their business. This can be either supplied by themselves or a combination of monies from investors.

Are there ongoing fees paid to the franchisor?
Franchisees will be required to pay a royalty of 6% of gross revenues. These fees allow us to fund our ongoing support services and the continued development of new products, procedures, marketing tools, training programs, and systems upgrades.

Are there any advertising fees?
Franchisees will be required to spend at least 3% of revenues on local marketing. Franchisees may also be required to contribute up to 1.5% of gross revenues toward a system marketing fund. Funds are used to develop marketing strategies to promote the Kennelwood Pet Resorts brand and fund the creative costs to develop local franchise marketing materials.

Is financing available?
Although we do not provide financing, we are be able to provide references to qualified lending agencies, on a case-by-case basis.

What is the term of the franchise agreement?
The initial term of your Kennelwood Pet Resorts franchise agreement is ten years, with one subsequent ten year renewal term and two subsequent five-year renewal terms.

Do I need prior experience in running a pet boarding facility or other pet related business?
Background in the pet care industry experience is a plus, but certainly not a requirement. We will provide the training you need to adopt and use the Kennelwood systems and procedures. However, we do seek franchisees that have strong business management and customer service skills, a genuine interest in the welfare of pets, and a dedication to providing superior products and services.

In the classroom we will provide instruction on such topics as administrative issues, operational aspects, pet safety, client relations, sales, marketing, human resources and staffing concerns.

The on-the-job, hands-on portion of training will have you actively participating in the daily activities at one of our corporate facilities working side-by-side with our seasoned managers and staff and let you feel what it's like to be at the helm of a Kennelwood Pet Resorts facility.
