DESCRIPTION

ID Security Online presents its first Graphic Design Awards Contest. From Monday, September 9 to Friday, December 6, 2013, college and university students are invited to submit their design of a unique photo ID badge.
From Monday, September 9 to Friday, December 6, 2013, design a unique photo ID badge and win amazing prizes: Grand prize: (1) MacBook Pro Laptop 13-inch, 2.5GHz. Second prize: Full Adobe Photoshop CS6 software Third prize: (1) Apple iPad 16GB with WiFi The winning design will be added as a card template in all editions of CardPresso ID card software. All designs will be posted on our Facebook page and the student who has the most-liked entry will receive a $100 Visa gift card. If you are our big winner, your school will be rewarded with a $500 credit to spend on our website.
 
Students must fill out the entry form exclusively available at www.idsecurityonline.com/design-awards. Incomplete entries or entries with inappropriate content will be disqualified. Each student can submit up to two (2) entries. If a participant submits more than two entries, the only entries that will qualify will be the first two designs received by ID Security Online.

Participation in the Graphic Design Awards Contest constitutes contestant's full and unconditional agreement to and acceptance of these Official Rules. This contest is organized by ID Security Online, 37 West 26th Street Suite 1001 - New York, NY 10010.
 
Timing
 
Contest begins on Monday, September 9, 2013, and ends on Friday, December 6, 2013. All entries must be received by ID Security Online no later than 11:59pm EST on Friday, December 6, 2013.
 
Eligibility
 
Contest is open to all undergraduate and graduate college and university students in the United States.
 
How to enter
 
Students must fill out the entry form exclusively available at www.idsecurityonline.com/design-awards. Incomplete entries or entries with inappropriate content will be disqualified.
 
Each student can submit up to two (2) entries. If a participant submits more than two entries, the only entries that will qualify will be the first two designs received by ID Security Online.
 
Badge design
 
All submitted entries must be original and not based on any existing designs. The photo ID badge must be entirely designed by the contestant. Any attempt to submit files that would be copied, altered or stolen will automatically be disqualified.
 
The final size of the photo ID badge must be 3.375” x 2.125” at a resolution of 300dpi.   Accepted file formats are .jpg, .jpeg, .psd, .eps, and .pdf. The file size must not exceed 5MB. Files with layers are preferred and may be requested if the entry is selected as one of the winning designs.
 
Students can choose to (1) build a badge for a virtual organization, company or school, (2) create a badge template with the names of the fields such as [Company name] or [Full address], or (3) design a badge using ID Security Online’s name and/or contact information.
 
Entries must not contain any personally identifiable information of any person other than the entrant.  Should the entrant include personally identifiable information about him/herself in his/her entry, entrant acknowledges and agrees that such information will be disclosed publicly and entrant is solely responsible for any consequences thereof. 
 
Use of security features such as barcodes or holograms is permitted.
 
Judging sessions
 
Each entry will be screened for compliance with the entry requirements. Qualifying entries will be regularly posted on the contest’s Facebook page. At the end of the contest, the entry with the highest number of “Like” will be named Fan Favorite and the entrant will receive a prize in accordance with Section 6.
 
At the end of the contest, qualifying entries will be judged by an independent panel of judges selected by ID Security Online. The judges’ decisions are final and binding. Judging sessions will be held from Monday, December 9 to Friday, December 13, 2013.
 
The panel of judges will review each design and rate each eligible entry on the following criteria:
  • Originality and creativity of the design,
  • Aesthetic quality and harmony of the design
  • Readability and visual clarity of the design
  • Informative quality as an ID badge.
  • Usability of the design as a card template
A maximum of twenty (20) points will be awarded for each of the five (5) categories identified above. The total number of points possible is one hundred (100).  Subject to verification of eligibility and compliance with these rules, the top three (3) designs with the highest total scores shall each be awarded a prize in accordance with Section 6. In the event of a tie for the first three (3) designs, another independent judge will determine the winner(s) based on the same criteria and point system. 
 
The winners will be announced on Monday, December 16, 2013. The list of winners will be published on www.IDSecurityOnline.com and on the contest’s Facebook page.
 
Prizes
 
The student with the highest score will be rewarded with a MacBook Pro Laptop 13-inch, 2.5GHz.  The winning design will become a card template in CardPresso ID card software. The school of the winning student will be rewarded with a $500 credit to spend on www.IDSecurityOnline.com.
 
The second prize is a full version of Adobe Photoshop CS6 software. The third prize is (1) Apple iPad 16GB with WiFi.
 
All designs will be posted on the contest’s Facebook page and the student who has the most-liked entry will receive a $100 Visa gift card by mail.
 
Winners will be notified by ID Security Online on or about December 16, 2013 by email at the email address provided on the entry form. If any prize winner cannot be reached within (10) days of attempted notification, or if a prize is returned with no forwarding address, ID Security Online reserves the right to deem that prize as forfeited and the prize may be awarded to the next highest scoring Entrant.
 
Copyright Ownership:
 
By submitting an entry, each student warrants that he/she is the sole designer, creator, and owner of the artwork, including all visual components, or has permission to use copyrighted components, and further warrants that the artwork does not contain information considered by any other third party to be confidential. All entrants warrant and represent that all designs submitted are entirely original and have not previously been published or won any awards.
 
Each entrant hereby grants ID Security Online an exclusive royalty-free license to use the design as a card template in CardPresso ID card software.  Each entrant agrees that submitted designs may be published on ID Security Online’s website, Facebook page and any other communication media. All entrants grant ID Security Online the right to publicize their designs without additional compensation for advertising and promotional purposes.
