A division of the University of Kentucky established in 1988, Center for Applied Energy Research, also known as CAER, is one of the multidisciplinary research centers of this university. Striving onwards to achieve the status of a premier applied research and development center of global repute, this organization lays emphasis on the best possible utilization of the energy resources for the general benefit.
The main office of this organization is located in Lexington, Kentucky and it is currently under the leadership of Mr. Rodney Andrews, its Director. CAER involves itself with various activities such as promoting new energy technologies to improve the environment, strategizing policies related to coal, energy and the environment as well as fulfilling other educational and informative purposes. International Ash Utilization Symposia is an upcoming conference from under the banner of CAER.
