The Centrepoint is best known as a multi-faceted shopping destination housing the iconic Robinsons department store and quality retailer Marks and Spencer in Singapore. The Centrepoint won a Silver Award in 2009 and Merit Award in 2012 in the Orchard Road Best Dressed Building Competition organised by Orchard Road Business Association. It set a new Singapore record for Tallest Christmas Tree Made of Cupcakes (Singapore Book of Records) on 13 November 2009 and Tallest Chocolate Sculpture (Guinness World Records and Singapore Book of Records) on 2 December 2008.
The Centrepoint is accredited with the Businesses For Families Mark by the Businesses For Families Council which recognises establishments with outstanding family-friendly practices and services. Family rooms are located at Levels 3 and 6 of the main building. Kiddy toilets are at Levels 2 to 6 of the new wing. Diaper-changing stations are located in the Level 2 ladies' toilet as well as Levels 2, 3 and 4 men's toilet.
