PJ’s Coffee is part of the Raving Brands! family of franchises, which includes Moe’s Southwest Grill, Mama Fu’s Asian House, Doc Green's Gourmet Salads, Shane's Rib Shack, Monkey Joe's, Boneheads Grilled Seafood & Piri Piri Chicken, and Planet Smoothie. Each of these concepts has built a reputation of aggressive growth, great real estate, dynamic customer experience, and a passion for excellence.
Phyllis Jordan opened the first PJ's outlet on Maple Street, in the University area of New Orleans, in September 1978. The first PJ’s quickly became a local favorite for its fresh brewed coffee and tea, fresh pastries and desserts, and its relaxed atmosphere.
Phyllis quickly decided that in order to make a truly great cup of coffee, one that met her approval as both a coffee buyer and a coffee lover, she needed to control the roasting process – a move that made all the difference.
That difference is revealed in the consistent quality of all of PJ’s flavors, cup after cup.
The first PJ’s franchised location was opened in Mandeville, LA, in 1989. Since then, PJ’s has become a favorite in a city known for its decadence and discriminating palates. Fine food and drink are a way of life in New Orleans, and PJ’s has earned a place at the top.
For two years in a row now, PJ’s has been voted the Best Coffee House in New Orleans. A feat not reached by any of the Seattle companies. That should tell you something – PJ’s roasts, blends, brews, and serves Simply the Best Coffee.
Now PJ's Coffee & Wine Bar is bringing a great experience to the rest of the world. Our growth and future plans means PJ's could be coming to your neighborhood soon!
